I grew up in a small town where there was literally nothing to do except drive around and stare at stuff. Finding myself utterly bored out of my mind caused me to look for any form of entertainment, which is when I began drawing. Drawing turned into a passion, almost an obsession, I would draw anywhere and everywhere. I would fill sketchbooks up with very bad drawings, which became decent drawings, which eventually became what I considered to be good drawings. As I grew a bigger interest in all things art I branched out into other mediums. Paints, markers, colored pencils, paper crafts, photoshop and anything else I could get my hands on. My love for art grew and I decided to take that passion and pursue it as a career. I wanted to make art a full time job without taking away the joy it brought me, which is why I chose to do graphic design. Much of my portfolio of work at Fresno State is directly related to my interests. I wanted my work to speak to who I am as a person and what I am capable of doing. As a multimedia student I have cultivated skills in motion graphics, logo and brand design HTML, CSS, JavaScript, animation, and illustration. Kathy Yang is a traditional and digital illustrator based in Fresno, California. Yang’s style of illustration is influenced by Japanese anime and mang. As a child, her biggest influence for drawing anime was the hit show, Sailor Moon. Robert Rawson has been an experienced artist in painting, drawing, and photography since 2012. Rawson loves that these skills have all contributed to his ideas and current illustration work.
